Family Life Education

Family Life Education (FLE) provides knowledge, skills and supportive services to youth and their families, promoting optimal healthy development and functioning for individual family members as well as the family as a whole.

"I ended up getting along with my parents better than I had in the last two years."

"Through the class, my eyes were opened to several things I can do to help me teach my kids and keep their trust and respect."

In The Community

FLE offers educational groups focusing on parent-child conflict resolution, positive parenting skills, and family connectedness (Helping Children Succeed After Divorce, Active Parenting Today & Active Parenting of Teens). Similarly, FLE offers many school-based educational services that address adolescent parenting, anger management, parent empowerment and asset development (CARE, Young Parents Program,  & FAST).  Finally, FLE offers specialized programming for youth that are in jeopardy of being placed in youth detention.  These programs help youth develop pro-social skills, improve behavior and academic performance, and make restitution to the community for the crimes they have committed (ASAP & CENTURY).

Individualized Services

Family Life Education doesn't stop its service at the community level! The compassionate staff in FLE works one-on-one with families (Active Families). Through activity-based programs, families identify and are linked with community resources, which help strengthen the family's bond and overall functioning. FLE helps each member of the family as they work together to build a strong family connection.
