The Center for New Beginnings Shelter & Services
The Center for New Beginnings Shelter & Services provides a safe place for women and their children as they seek freedom from domestic violence. While at New Beginnings, women and children are provided the resources and skills they need to build a safe, healthy and happy life.
A Safe Haven
New Beginnings provides safety and support to hundreds of women and children every year. The Center for New Beginnings Shelter is staffed twenty-four hours per day, 365 days per year. State of the art security systems and procedures are in place to protect women and their children from the violent past they have left behind.
In The Community
New Beginnings also offers community-based services. A 24-hour crisis phone line is available for community members who may have questions or concerns about domestic violence and for those who are in immediate danger and in search of a safe home for themselves and their families (24 Hour Crisis Phone Line). The trained staff at New Beginnings also provides community education about violence and its impact on individual and family functioning (Community Education). Finally, community members can also find support at the weekly support group offered by The Center for New Beginnings Shelter & Services (Support Group).
Individualized Services
Once at New Beginnings, guests are greeted by a team of highly trained and compassionate staff who help to make their transition into emergency shelter as pleasant and safe as possible. While at New Beginnings, women and children are educated about the dynamics of family violence and provided the skills and information they need to build strong homes for themselves and their families. Guests at New Beginnings have access to on-site, individual and family counseling to cope with the abusive relationship they have left behind and build a new life for themselves that is free of violence (Individual & Family Counseling). Children receive specialized attention at New Beginnings (Child Advocate Program). The Child Advocate works with the children to ensure that they are adjusting well to their new environment and a life free from violence.
